Day 1 / FRI (D) Istanbul

Welcome to Istanbul. You will be transferred to your hotel and the remainder of the day is yours, free to explore at leisure before meeting you’re travelling companions this evening.

Day 2 / SAT (B,D) Troy, Alexander Troas, Assos

Early morning departure as we head west along the Sea of Marmara. We cross the Dardanelles by ferry to reach the ancient site of Troy and its famed Trojan Horse. We continue on to Alexander-Troas where we visit the theatre, palace, temple, agora, baths, necropolis and harbour once used by St Paul.

Day 3 / SUN (B,D) Pergamon, Thyatira, Izmir

Today we drive south along the Aegean coast to Pergamon to visit the famed Acropolis, Red Church and nearby Asceplion. .After lunch we continue to Akhisar to visit the Church of Ancient Thyatira before driving onto Izmir.

Day 4 / MON (B,D) Sardis, Philadelphia

This morning we visit old Smyrna and the Church of St Polycarp, before driving to Sardis, ancient capital of the Lydians where we visit the church of Sardis. Next is Alasehir where the Church of Philadelphia is located. Walk the streets of Philadelphia and discover this ancient city.

Day 5 / TUE (B,D) Ephesus, Pamukkale

Absorb yourself in history today as we visit the ancient city of Ephesus, the Temple of Artemis, House of the Virgin Mary, the archaeological museum and the Basilica of St John. This afternoon we continue onto Pamukkale, with its naturally scalloped calcium terraces. We tour the ancient city of Hierapolis and the Martyrium of St.Philip. before the chance to enjoy a leisurely bath in the warm thermal waters.

Day 6 / WED (B,D) Laodicea / Bursa

Today we drive to the Greco-Roman city of Laodicea, before continuing onto Bursa, the first capital of the Ottoman Empire. We visit the Green Mausoleum, Green Mosque, silk bazaar and grand Mosque.

Day 7 / THU (B,D) Nicea, Istanbul

After breakfast we drive to the biblical city of Nicea to visit it’s Hagia Sophia, churches and monuments from Ottoman period. Late afternoon we arrive back in Istanbul to visit the Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque and Grand Bazaar.

Day 8 / FRI (B) Istanbul

After breakfast, our tour concludes and we say goodbye to our new friends before being transferred to the airport for your onward flight.
